Rhodochrosite with Quartz

Item Description

A sharp, 2.0 x 1.8 cm, rhodo rhomb is jauntily set atop drusy quartz covered sulfide matrix on this showy Colorado combo specimen. The lustrous, rose-red rhomb is lightly frosted and two sides of the crystal are preferentially coated with drusy quartz with nice effect. Two little calcite rosettes on one corner of the rhomb are very cute. Complete all-around, a bit of cleaving on the out of sight, left side of the rhomb is barely noticeable and is a modest detraction. Classic American Tunnel rhodo and quartz.
