A big showy display specimen of the famous Rhodochrosites from the Pasto Bueno area in Peru. These specimens are very similar to the famous Sweet Home Rhodos in terms of color, crystal habit and associations. This piece is loaded with many sharp, rich reddish-pink colored, lustrous, gemmy rhombs of Rhodochrosite measuring up to 1.6 cm, associated with Quartz prisms that range from colorless and transparent to white and translucent sitting on a sawn matrix. There are some contacted areas, so the piece isn't pristine, but the sheer size and visual impact of the piece is significant, as you rarely see pieces like this from Pasto Bueno on the market.
