The world famous Sweet Home Mine was the producer of the finest Rhodochrosite crystals in the world in terms of quality and quantity. Sweet Home specimens are always in demand on the market today, and beloved in the mineral world. This piece features a pair of beautiful, sharp, gemmy, vibrant pink colored rhombs of Rhodochrosite measuring up to 5 mm which are associated with striated metallic golden color cubes of Pyrite measuring up to 9 mm sitting on "needle" Quartz on matrix. While Pyrite is not a rare species, it's difficult to find a Rhodo / Pyrite combo like this from the Sweet Home, and would make a nice addition to any Colorado suite or a collection of Sweet Home material.
