Item Description
A very hard to find specimen of Rhodochrosite associated with Native Arsenic from the famous old locality at Baia Sprie, Romania. Not only are Rhodochrosites rare from this locale, but to find one associated with Native Arsenic like this is exceptionally rare in my experience. The Rhodochrosite has a lovely baby pink hue and semi-botryoidal form. They are actually crystallized, albeit quite small (see closeup photos). The Arsenic crystals are somewhat rounded, which is typical for the species, but they are distinct and really fun to view up close. If you collect Rhodochrosite, you will be hard pressed to get a piece like this in today's market, so don't pass it up, as VERY few exist. From the worldwide Rhodochrosite collection of Dr. William S. Logan (Specimen #X65-3) with a label from a previous dealer. This piece is priced at $900 in the inventory.
