Item Description
A rare and beautiful cluster of gemmy and lustrous, bright cherry-red rhodochrosite scalenohedrons with slightly truncated terminations. The rhodos are strikingly accented with starkly contrasting, metallic-bright, manganite crystals, making for a very desirable combination specimen. Some of the crystals have lighter rose-red terminations, a showy and uncommon occurrence. This very fine miniature plate is nearly pristine, with only two gently cleaved terminations, that I can see. The value of fine N'Chwaning rhodos escalates like Sweet Home pieces. This piece is from the famed 1978-1981 finds, and such are increasingly uncommon on the market. Fairly valued at $2000-3000
