Rhodochrosite with Galena (ex Dr. William Logan Collection)

This piece is labeled as coming from Pasto Bueno, but I'm not entirely certain, and I think it's could possibly be from the Manuelita Mine. With that said, it's certainly an older specimen, and is a classic example of what we've come to expect out of Peru over the years. Here we have a lovely small cabinet display specimen that features a beautiful coverage of baby pink colored crystals of Rhodochrosite sitting atop unusually spherical "ball" of white Quartz, and when you flip the piece over, you'll see there is a beautiful group of sharp, well-formed, steel-grey colored Galena cubes. The color combination is really pleasing to the eye, and you don't see a lot of Rhodochrosite and Galena combos from Peru these days. The periphery edges of the specimen are contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket wall, but the main crystallized area is in very good shape. Valued at $950 retail.
