Rhodochrosite with Galena (ex Brian Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A great locality Rhodochrosite from the Julia Fisk mine in the famous mining district in Leadville, Colorado. The piece is filled with small, sharp, lustrous, "saddle"-shaped compressed Rhombohedra of pale pink Rhodochrosite which are associated with dark metallic grey Galena and minor tan Siderite. One of the few specimens of this very hard to find material that I have handled. A great reference specimen for any Rhodochrosite collector or Colorado collector.
