Rhodochrosite with Galena

This heavy, massive, 885-gram specimen is a large crystallized cluster of rhodochrosite (somewhat weathered or etched, but still crystallized), decorated with contrasting crystals of galena and sphalerite. It is just big, impressive, and red! These are from a find in 2009, which produced mostly smaller specimens of any quality. For a collector who wants a big crystallized rhodochrosite, this is a welcome alternative to the much more expensive material from Colorado or Peru. I obtained this in trade, an dit had a previous dealer label of $2000
