Item Description

This is about as classic as it gets from the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. The Sunnyside mine produced some very well known Rhodochrosite association specimens in its history. This specimen is a hard to find cabinet sized specimen comprising a plate of small, light pink Rhodochrosite rhombohedra which are associated with a few pale green, translucent, comples Fluorite crystals (combination cube, octahedron and dodecahedron) measuring up to 2.2 cm with a "wash" of snow-white Quartz crystals and minor sulfides. Specimens of this size and quality and virtually non-existent on the market now, and are highly sought after by Colorado collectors. This association of pink Rhodochrosite and green Fluorite is uncommon in the mineral world, and is a true staple of any good Colorado collection. Valued at $950-$1250.
