Rhodochrosite with Fluorite

These distinctive and eye-catching Chinese Rhodos have appeared on the market a few years ago, and seem to have dried up now. The specimens really remind me of specimens I've seen from various mines in Colorado. If this Rhodo were from the Sweet Home mine, it would be a great treasure for many Colorado collectors. This piece features a few sharp, semi lustrous, pink, flattened rhomobohedra of Rhodochrosite measuring up to 1.3 cm on edge, and associated with pale green Fluorite sitting on attractive matrix. Virtually no damage. You really don't see many of these new Rhodos from Wutong available, so don't pass this one up because the locality has produced little to nothing in the way of specimens in recent years. Valued at $1200.
