Item Description

A colorful and eye-catching display specimen from the Starnitsa Deposit in Bulgaria featuring a coverage of beautiful baby pink colored, compressed rhombohedra of Rhodochrosite forming semi-spherical shaped groups, sitting atop a layer brassy metallic Chalcopyrite with very dark golden-brown Sphalerite and a bit of Quartz on matrix. I love the color combination, and this particular material is certainly hard to find on the market these days. No major damage anywhere, outside of the back of the piece where it was removed from the pocket wall. The specimen has a saw mark on the base, so it can actually sit on its own without a base or clay. For you worldwide Rhodochrosite collectors, don't pass this one up, as it's not only pretty, but certainly uncommon to find for sale these days.
