Item Description

This mine has produced some very well known Rhodochrosite specimens in its history. This piece hosts a group of attractive, sharp, well-formed, rhombohedral crystals of translucent pink colored Rhodochrosite which are sitting on a first generation of light pink Rhodochrosite, which has formed a rarely seen, blocky "cast" after Anhydrite. The large Rhodo rhomb measures 8 mm across. A nice specimen for any collector of Rhodochrosites or specimens from Colorado from this well known mine in the San Juan Mountains. A rarely seen dual-generation specimen with a cool replacement after Anhydrite.
