Rhodochrosite w/ Sphalerite, Galena & Quartz (W.S. Logan Coll.)

Item Description

The Logan label says Naica rhodochrosite. Specimens are RARE from the famous mines at Naica. MINDAT lists the species, but there are no photos in the locality Gallery. Colorful pastel-pink bladed spherical aggregates richly and aesthetically cover the mounded combination matrix on this showy piece. The matrix is sphalerite and galena and the quartz points are a nice contrast and accessory. Ex W.S. Logan Rhodochrosite Collection # X80-7. Comes with two additional labels, one from well-known dealers and Mexico collectors, Cal and Kerith Graeber. We forwarded photos to well-known Mexico expert and collector, Dr. Peter Megaw, for his review. He believes the piece is from Santa Eulalia.
