Item Description

A rare, huge for the locale, spray of classic, rose-red, translucent, elongated rhodochrosite scalenohedrons from Santa Eulalia, Mexico. The rhodos are aesthetically and preferentially peppered with tiny quartz crystals. Yes, part of the termination is cleaved, but this remains a very significant large example of the species and famed locale. These very showy, extremely large crystals came out in the late 1970s we are told, with none since. The backlit photo highlights the pretty color saturation and crystal translucency. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection and valued at $500, for extreme size and rarity.
