Item Description

Pretty rose-red lustrous and translucent rhodochrosite rhombs cover the sawed granitic matrix on this rich and showy example from the famous Sweet Home Mine. The impressive large well-placed central rhomb is 2.4 cm on the diagonal. Most of the rhombs have cleaved or bruised faces. The large rhomb has a cleaved frontal face with the two side faces being pristine. The 9 mm sparkly chalcopyrite "ball" on the left and scattered fields of drusy quartz are nice accents. This remains a colorful, rich and highly representative example of the species and famed locale.
