Rhodochrosite w/ Calcite druse (Consie Prince Coll.)

Item Description

An aesthetic cluster of intergrown, blocky, rhodochrosite rhombs nicely rests on a shard of matrix. The lustrous, translucent, rose-red rhombs have an interesting druse of oriented tiny calcite spikes. The partially cleaved edge of the large rhomb reveals the color and is, in fact, a nice feature to the piece. The back of the large crystal is cleaved. A very interesting and unusual rhomb from Santa Eulalia and the Consie Prince Collection.
