Item Description

Rosettes of pastel-pink flattened rhodochrosite rhombs nearly totally cover the undulating matrix on this very showy and rich specimen from the largest manganese deposit in Japan (now closed). The rhombs on the left side are beautiful, lustrous and sharp. The rhombs in the front have a light iron oxide coating. A few glassy barite blades peer out among the rosettes. Classic, excellent and undamaged combo rhodo from this famous locale. Ex Sakurai Collection.
