Item Description

An attractive large miniature / small cabinet sized specimen of these distinctive Rhodochrosites from the Ushkatyn No. 3 deposit in Kazakhstan. The bubbly/spherical habit of the Rhodo, along with the saturated pinkish-red color are alluring. There is an almost "waxy" luster on the surface, not typical for the species, but certainly eye-catching. When this particular specimen is backlit, it displays good internal translucency, with a vivid color that shines through. These are virtually non-existent on the market today, found in the 1990s for a brief time, and then never again.
