Classic, curved vivid pink, paper rhodochrosite rhombs are densely intergrown, jackstraw-style, on this rich and excellent plate from the famous and historic Type Locality. The rhodos rest on a thin crust of tiny sparkly quartz points, adding character. This aesthetic and sculptural two-sided small cabinet plate is from the Dr. Marvin Rausch Collection, a well-known chemist and collector, who passed away in 2008 and from the W.S. Logan Rhodchrosite Collection. This is fine quality classic Cavnic rhodo with above-average color for the locale, luster and form.
