Item Description

Not only is the locality at Mont Saint-Hilaire one of the most prolific species producers ever, it even has unique Rhodochrosite specimens! These are not your typical Sweet Home rhombs or even the classic "dogtooth" habit crystals from South Africa, but unique trigonal twins! It almost reminds me of a compressed "Spinel" twin. This particular piece is a very sharp and well-formed twinned crystal with a deep reddish-brown color when backlit. Typical for the material, and certainly different from Rhodos from virtually any other locality.
