Item Description
An aptly shaped and named pair of rhodochrosite "booties" from the classic 1989 find at Capillitas. Pretty pastel-pink rhodochrosite blades compose the sculptural intergrown pair of curved rhodchrosite stalactites. Preferential oxide coatings add contrast and interest. Interestingly, all four coiled ends are terminated, with only a bit of contacting on one end and on the bottom. It appears to be a near floater, which is highly unusual. Ex Richard Rossi Collection. Richard is a Senior Fellow of the Mineralogical Record. Classic unusually formed Capillitas rhodochrosites stalactites.
