Unique looking and pristine, 360-degree small cabinet rhodochrosite stalactite from the famous late 1980s-early 1990s finds at Capillitas. The bizarre exterior is composed of strangely intergrown, nubby, rounded, slightly translucent, flattened, worm-like, oxide-tinted, pinkish-brown, rhodochrosite rhombohedrons. The sawed, polished and coated with polyurethane spray or lacquer base reveals the distinctively, classic stalactitic Capillitas rhodochrosite. Five intergrown stalactites are clearly visible highlighting the dense banding of the striking, pretty, variable colors of rich rose-red and pastel-pink. Capillitas rhodochrosite is highly desirable as mineral specimens, decorative pieces and in jewelry. Ex De Natura (Les Presmyk) dealer stock and valued by him at $2500.
