Two coated, translucent smoky quartz crystals aesthetically rest atop a cluster of triangular, flattened, rhodochrosite rhombs on this very nifty combination specimen from the famous Poudrette Quarry. The front of the piece is pristine, but the back holds a real surprise! The large smoky is cleaved, which reveals a very glassy, rich smoky crystal with a striking, etched, skeletal interior. Very uncommon in this combination form. Ex Ernie Schlicter Collection, who collected the pocket in the late 1970s. Classic material.
