Rhodochrosite specimens of this quality and richness are rare from historic Nagyag. Usually they are just crud on matrix, or covering the nagyagites we want more. This is actuallly a SPECIMEN of rhodochrosite, in and of itself! Spherical aggregates of lustrous, translucent, pastel-pink blades attractively fill the sculptural vug in solid rhodo matrix. Nearly pristine, with only one spot of trivial rubbing. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and formerly in the Michigan College of Mines (Michigan Tech) Collection according to his label. The old college name dates from 1897-1927. A very fine old-time and rare specimen. Valued $750.
