Item Description

Mineral specimens are RARE from this obscure small mine in ophiolites that opened in 1948 and closed in 1957 (MINDAT). Spherical aggregates of nubby rounded pastel-pink rhodochrosite rhombs line both sides of a 2.6 cm cleft in the miniature matrix. Ex Francesco Stoppani and W.S. Logan Collection X119-1. RARE and seldom available rhodo from this less well-known locale.
