Item Description
A very hard to find specimen from the fairly obscure Daniel Bonanza Mine in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. The piece hosts lovely soft pink colored rhombic crystals of Rhodochrosite which are sitting on sparkling off-white colored Quartz on mixed massive sulfide and Rhodochrosite matrix. The largest Rhodochrosite measures about 3 mm across. If you're a fan of Rhodochrosite or Colorado minerals, you need one of these in your collection, as they are nearly impossible to find on the market today. From the worldwide Rhodochrosite collection of Dr. William S. Logan (Specimen #X132-6) with a label from Robert Stoufer, who collected the piece in the early 1980s.
