Item Description
RARE rhodochrosite from this extinct, obscure San Juan Mountains silver and sulfide mine! The very colorful and impressive large rich rose-red blocky specimen is a partially euhedral crystal. Some faces are sharp, highly lustrous, while others are contacted. It has a dramatic 360-degree quality to it and is an IMPORTANT and rare old Colorado rhodo from this obscure locale. Undoubtedly old material, but no exact date although these came out in the early 1900s apparently. From the W.S. Logan Rhodochrosite Collection. Value??? A MUST for the Colorado or species collector. Big, showy, red, and rare....!
