A striking and aesthetic combination thumbnail from the famous late 1970s rhodochrosite finds at the Huallypon Mine. Two gemmy and lustrous, light cherry-red rhombs are beautifully reposed below a dynamic pair of water-clear sharply terminated quartz crystals. A bit of bruising is noted on the large quartz termination and the left side of the left rhodo is cleaved. These are certainly only modest detractions. This remains one of the finest, most sculptural combination thumbnails you will see from this renowned find. Fairly valued at $300-500.
