Item Description
A stunning, complete and pristine specimen from the famous deposits of the Kerch Peninsula, Crimea, Ukraine. Pastel-pink, translucent, rhodochrosite has completely pseudomorphed a fossilized mollusc. The sharp ribs at the edge of the shell are very well defined. The mollusc rests on a matrix, that is nearly solid mollusc shell hash. This deposit is now mined through and gone. It is extremely rare to obtain specimens today of this quality.
