Rhodochrosite (polished slice)

Argentina has provided a tremendous amount of stalagtitic Rhodochrosite with a beautiful pink color banding, but rarely is the material gemmy enough for faceting as most of it is either slabbed or cabbed. With that said, this is a beautiful polished hollow stalactite of Rhodo from Argentina and shows a multitude of colors including pink, white and rose color along with the brown hue on the exterior. My favorite aspect of the piece is the fact that the outer "rind" is completely intact, which is hard to find when it comes to this material. The outmost portion of the "rind" shows a metallic silvery color. A unique and attractive piece to add to your collection.
