Item Description
The Grizzly Bear Mine has produced some of the best Rhodochrosites from Ouray County. This small cabinet piece features a cluster of Rhodochrosite rhombohedral crystals nestled in a pocket of crystalline Quartz. The reddish-pink Rhodos are nicely formed, with the sharpest crystal being 8mm on edge. The largest, and most euhedral, Quartz is over 2 cm long, and it is well-terminated. This is a fine, representative specimen for this area, with unusually well preserved crystals, and is probably from the mid 1900s.
