Item Description

This mine has produced some of the most recognized Rhodochrosite specimens from any mine in Colorado. Were it not for the Sweet Home Mine, the Sunnyside would almost certainly be known as the #1 Rhodochrosite producer in the state. This piece hosts attractive, sharp, lustrous, rhombs of light pink colored Rhodochrosite on a layer of sparkling white Quartz on matrix forming an attractive small cabinet specimen. The largest Rhodochrosite crystal measures about 7 mm. Very little damage, but in good condition overall. A great specimen for any collector of Rhodochrosites or specimens from Colorado from this well known mine in the San Juan Mountains. From the worldwide Rhodochrosite collection of Dr. William S. Logan (Specimen #X127-1)
