Item Description

The Idarado mine is most famous for its Manganoan Calcite specimens, but specimens of Rhodochrosite are VERY few and far between! This piece is features interesting "rosette"-esque radiating bladed groups of very pale orange-pink colored Rhodochrosite up to 5 mm on a semi-milky prismatic Quartz crystal. When it comes to Colorado Rhodos, there are plenty of localities, but these are RARE. If you collect Colorado minerals or Rhodochrosites in general, don't miss out on this one. The piece comes with a label from Colorado dealer Robert Stoufer, which states it was collected at some point during the 1960s-1970s.
