Item Description

These distinctive and eye-catching Chinese Rhodos have appeared on the market a few years ago, and seem to have dried up now. The specimens which are associated with Quartz and sulfides (like this one) really remind me of specimens I've seen from various mines in Colorado. This piece actually resembles the habit of Rhodochrosite found at the Eagle mine, but on a matrix that resembles the Sweet Home mine. It features dozens of sharp, semi lustrous, pink, flattened rhomobohedra of Rhodochrosite sitting on attractive Quartz crystals associated on sulfide matrix. You really don't see many of these Rhodos from Wutong available, so don't pass this one up because the locality has produced little to nothing in the way of specimens in recent years.
