Item Description
These distinctive and eye-catching Chinese Rhodos have appeared on the market a few years ago, and seem to have dried up now. The specimens associated with Quartz and sulfides (like this one) really remind me of specimens I've seen from various mines in Colorado. If this Rhodo were from the Sweet Home mine, it would be a great treasure for many Colorado collectors, althoug the habit would be incorrect. This piece actually resembles the habit of Rhodochrosite found at the Eagle mine, but on a matrix that resembles the Sweet Home mine. It features hundreds of sharp, semi lustrous, pink, flattened rhomobohedra of Rhodochrosite sitting on attractive Quartz crystals associated with dark red-black Hubnerite on sulfide matrix. You really don't see many of these new Rhodos from Wutong available, so don't pass this one up because the locality has produced little to nothing in the way of specimens in recent years.
