Item Description

Showy miniature of translucent, glassy, pinkish-red Rhodochrosite crystals sitting on a contrasting black manganese oxide matrix, of a style that came from Peru in the 1980s. The nearly dozen crystals are aesthetically placed in a linear chain across the top with the largest one on the end measuring 1.4 cm. The darker more saturated color occurs in the larger crystals. The crystals also exhibit a more modified crystal habit than the more common scalenohedral form that the Uchucchacua Mine is known for. Beautiful Rhodochrosite from Peru with eye-catching aesthetics. Was valued by Keith Williams at $1800 on his label.
