Item Description
Ridiculously gemmy and colorful intergrown rhodochrosite scalenohedrons form an otherworldly specimen from the Hotazel Mine. The vibrant colors range from dark cherry-red to cherry-red to orange-red on this beauty. Yes, there is periphery wear on the exterior, but there is only one cleaved termination in the interior. The base has been sawed to enhance the incredible display quality. This is a gorgeous, older rhodochrosite specimen from Kalahari. Hotazel rhodos predate (1960s to early 70s) the famous Nchwaning finds of the late 70s and early 80s. Valued at $1500-1750. The luster is surreal.
