Item Description

For those who don't know, Richard Kosnar mined the Sweet Home for a few years during the late 1970's and managed to collect some excellent Rhodo specimens. This piece is from Rich's colleciton, and is a classic Rhodochrosite specimen from arguably the most famous locality for the species. This piece features a few sharp, lustrous, pink color rhombohedra of Rhodochrosite associated with minor Quartz, lilac Fluorite and Sulfies. Specimens from the Sweet Home Mine have sky-rocketed in value since the mine closed, and the specimens from the this famous locality are certainly among the finest quality Rhodochrosite crystals in the world. This piece is from one of the last pockets that Rich opened before he was done at the mine. Enjoy.
