Rhodochrosite, Galena, Calcite & Arsenopyrite (rare combo - classic locale)

Item Description

A RARE and impressive 360-degree small cabient combination knob from the historic mines of the Trepca District. A 2.2 cm field of pretty, lustrous, pastel-pink rhodochrosite rhombs is dramatically flanked by striking melted-look, stepped-growth, splendent metallic-gray, tightly intergrown galena cuboctahedrons, to 3.7 cm and an impressive blanket of small, glassy, frosted calcite scalenohedrons, that cover over one-half of the knob. One calcite covered face is peppered with small, sharp, brassy, metallic-bright arsenopyrite crystals and you can also see hints of pink rhodochrosite covered by the calcites here. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a modest bit of lower periphery wear at the galena, rhodochrosite and calcite contact and a bit of basal periphery wear.
