Item Description
A striking and exceptional rhodochrosite from the famous 1970s and 80s finds at the Nchwaning mines. Glassy, translucent, pretty two-toned cherry-red rhombs form beautiful intergrown, flattened, radial aggregates with outstanding aesthetics. Some people call these the "horse apple" form, which is relatively rare for the finds. The backlit photos highlight the gorgeous, famous color saturations. Just a bit of periphery wear on one side. The back has been sawed to enhance the display view and translucency. Highly desirable rhodochrosite, only available from advanced recycled collections. Valued at $1800-2000
