Item Description

Rhodochrosite from the Sunnyside mine is one of the staples of any good Colorado or Rhodochrosite collection. In my opinion, this mine is only second to the famous Sweet Home as far as specimens are concerned in Colorado. This piece is a rather unusual Rhodo as the crystals are almost skeletal, and appear to have formed as "casts" after another mineral (possibly Anhydrite). The color is a rich bubblegum-pink and is aesthetically perched on matrix. This mine is no longer operating and these prized Rhodochrosite specimens are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain.
