Item Description

A cool old time Rhodochrosite specimen from the obscure Ulay Mine near Lake City, Colorado. The piece hosts a small pale pink, modified rhombohedral group of Rhodochrosite crystals sitting on a mound of crystallized, lustrous black Sphalerite tetrahedra with cubic Galena. The piece comes with a Richard A. Kosnar hand-written collection label, which states that the piece is an old specimen from the famous gem expert and mineral collector George F. Kunz.
