Item Description

Of the hundreds of species from the Franklin Mining District, Rhodochrosite is fairly uncommon and good specimens are few and far between. The species is found in countless worldwide localities, but pieces from Franklin are always a treat to see. This piece features several micro, lustrous, pale pink Rhodochrosite crystals on minor matrix. The piece came to Rich Kosnar from noted New Jersey collector Pat Gross, and her cardboard mounting box accompanies the piece. According to the label, this particular habit of Rhodochrosite was considered rare from Franklin! A cool specimen of this classic material.
