Item Description

Rhodochrosite is among the most popular of species among collectors, and it certainly helps that it's found in so many world localities. Good Mexican Rhodochrosite specimens are few and far between these days, but certainly sought after. This piece is a beautiful small cabinet specimen from famous Potosi Mine in Santa Eulalia. Certainly old material, and beautiful for the species. It consists of eye-catching spherical / botryoidal aggregates of sparkling vivid pink Rhodochrosite on contrasting dark reddish-brown matrix. The largest "ball" measures 1.3 cm across. If you're a Rhodo collector, a Mexican mineral collector, or a if you just like colorful display pieces from less common localities, this piece is for you. Priced at $900 in the inventory. The specimen comes from the collection of John Arnaud, formerly of Westcliffe, Colorado.
