Item Description

This small cabinet display specimen is a good representative example of these classic Uchuccchacua Rhodochrosites. This is a different color and style than we're used to seeing from this mine, as the color of the crystals is a light pink hue, and they're not the typical "dogtooth" scalenohedra, but rather tightly intergrown crystal clusters of small rhombs. The crystals are sitting on silvery-white Quartz on host rock matrix. If you collect Rhodochrosites or minerals from Peru / South America, this is an uncommon color and style for this mine, so don't pass it up, as you may not see another one like for a while. From the worldwide Rhodochrosite collection of Dr. William S. Logan (Specimen #X101-6).
