Item Description
A wonderful small cabinet display specimen of the classic Uchuccchacua Rhodochrosites. These are easily the most recognizable Rhodos from any Peruvian (or even South American) locality. The combination of the fiery color of the crystals and excellent gemminess with that classic scalenohedral form make them incredibly desirable. Here we have a very attractive small cabinet piece featuring excellent, very sharp, well-formed, highly lustrous, gemmy, glowing pinkish-red colored modified scalenohedral crystals measuring up to 1.4 cm with a bit of associated Quartz sitting on matrix. The main Rhodos are in excellent condition but there are some contacted areas where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. A very attractive and fine quality example of this classic material from Peru. Ex Brian Kosnar Collection.
