Item Description
This mine has produced some very well known Rhodochrosite specimens in its history. This piece has some very attractive, very sharp, well-formed, rhombohedral crystals of light pink colored Rhodochrosite (darker pinkish-red when backlit) which are associated with Quartz crystals on matrix. The largest Rhodo rhomb measurs 1.6 cm across, and most of the crystals on the piece are in good shape. A great specimen for any collector of Rhodochrosites or specimens from Colorado as this one truly stands out among so many inferior pieces from this well known mine in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado.
