Item Description
A wonderful, classic, miniature display specimen of the classic Uchuccchacua Rhodochrosites. Several glowing pink-red color, sharp, lustrous, gemmy scalenohedral crystals measuring up to 7 mm are associated with sparkling Quartz on host rock matrix. There are a few nicks, so it's not pristine, but the crystals look beautiful when backlit. Classic material from what are the arguably the best gem pink/red Rhodochrosites from Peru.
From the collection of Colorado mining legend, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired from mining, but was formerly the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s, and the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar.
