A sculptural and rich large 2-generation rhodochrosite specimen with calcite from the historic mines at Cavnic, the Type Locality for rhodochrosite. The undulating 3-dimensional surface is mainly sparkly, glassy, light pastel-pink rhodo rhombs. Scattered knobs of ivory-colored, lustrous, translucent, calcite rhombs add much character to this piece. Tiny, hard to see, bright brassy marcasite crystals are richly preferentially peppered about, adding even more pizzazz. The underlying matrix is massive rich pink rhodo. Classic rhodo and calcite from Cavnic. The piece has really cool texture, adding allure. Comes with a 80s-90s The Rocksmiths label.
