Item Description

Sharp rhodochrosite rhombs to 2.2 cm on the diagonal cover the front of this showy and excellent specimen of solid rhodo from the famous Emma Mine at Butte. A secondary overgrowth of matte rhodochrosite cover the highly lustrous, pretty pastel-pink rhombs. The lightly cleaved rhomb in the center and the periphery wear on one end nicely reveals the true color of the crystals. Classic, old-time material from the Rukin Jelks Collection. There are three collection numbers on the back of the piece. The piece displays well from either side.
